Tying secure knots is essential in arthroscopic surgery. A new slip knot for arthroscopic shoulder surgery is described. Locking of the knot is accomplished by pulling the post strand. Knot tying is simple and a low-profile, secure knot is produced.

We study the new formulas of Th. Fiedler for the degree-3-Vassiliev invariants for knots in the 3-sphere and solid torus and present some results obtained by them. We show that a knot with Jones polynomial consisting of exactly two monomials must have at least 20 crossings.
متن کاملA New DPA Countermeasure Based on Permutation Tables
We propose and analyse a new countermeasure against Differential Power Analysis (DPA) for the AES encryption algorithm, based on permutation tables. As opposed to existing AES countermeasures, it does not use random masking. We prove that our new countermeasure is resistant against first-order DPA; we also show that it is quite efficient in practice.
